THESE PICTHURES WERE TAKEN AT WORLD
OF WHEELS 1996 IN PHOENIX ARIZONA. I HAVE GROWN TIRED OF CAR SHOWS
AND HAVE DECIDED TO GO RACING!
ISCA WORLD OF WHEELS 1996
This is my 1970
Superbee 440 6-pack. The car was originally purchased in Tucson Arizona,7
where it saw a rather average existence until it was put off to the
side for restoration in 1990. It was then that the total restoration
began. 2000 man hours later the car rolled out of Classic Heaven
Restorations along with another superbee with white interior and bumble
bee stripe. One car went to the Imperial Palace Museum in Las Vegas,
NV. As you can see I received the second car. There were 196 superbee
coup' s with 440 6-pack's produced in 1970. The horse power rating
is 390 which was grossly underestimated. The torque rating is 365@
4500 rpm. There's a dana 60 tucked under the rear quarter which
helped propel the car through the quarter mile traps at about 13 seconds.
The Hurst shifter had a pistol grip and had a very long throw, if you didn't
have long arms you were in for a long day. The front bumpers were
acquired from Ford MoCo, they were originally used on the Edsel that's
right the Ford Edsel!
THE CAR WON FIRST PLACE IN LIGHT MODIFIED.
PRIOR TO THE
MODIFICATIONS IT HAS WON BEST OF SHOW ANTIQUE
RESTORED AND ALSO
OUTSTANDING OF SHOW ANTIQUE RESTORED.
HERE I AM WITH 10 TIME FUNNY CAR WORLD CHAMPION
JOHN FORCE.
